Holding My Breath
I held my breath,
unable to move,
only nine times around the sun I have been,
I step up,
hesitation in my eyes,
hesitation in breath.
the block,
rough and hard,
gave me no comfort.
the water below,
still,
unmoving.
I hear the whistle,
I take the plunge,
the water embraces me.
Hesitation gone,
adreneline trickles through my veins,
huring me onwards.
faster I go,
faster,
faster,
nothing will stop me,
I will keep going,
I let my breath out.
Bam,
the wall greets me,
I let all hesitation go,
for I have beaten it.
