How to Write a Monster
Don't write a monster with cold hands and feet,
with warm eyes and straight teeth,
with short hair, and freckles covering their face,
not every monster looks so out of place.
Walking and smiling and crossing the street,
with a friend at their arm and a heart that they keep,
those are the monsters that aren’t easily found,
they hide in plain sight and don’t make a sound,
They are tall or short with a hug and a kiss,
they have a glow in their eyes and a smile at their lips.
They bow and curtsy and talk with a grace,
not every monster looks so out of place.
