Reality
The child watched her sew in silence
he was mesmerized
the steady movement of her needle
fascinated him more than thought
to be possible
for her needle
was unlike others
in the sense that it belonged to her
and in turn it belonged to the one
who had always been there for the child
through joy and through sorrow
through love and through hate
her love stayed strong
through all of it
and with this relationship
the child felt trust
grandmother through grandson
he felt the connection
and she felt it too
but the memory was shaken
when the crying mother of the lost child
told him it was time to go
for she had been buried
and they had said their final goodbyes
