Graveyard Blues
She walks in solitude.
The graveyard people hum their blues
the moon sheds the only light
and all color is consumed by black.
She walks in fear.
Fear of both the unknown and the known
for she can feel the glaring eyes
but cannot see them.
She walks with indecision.
There is a path to the left
that heads for the graveyard people
singing their graveyard blues.
There is a path to the right
in which light radiates
and life blossoms.
She feels herself drawn to the left
and she knows this is wrong
yet she’s drawn there.
The closer she leans to that path
the more she feels the presence
of that overdue satisfaction.
Her foot lands on that left path
and the gate closes behind her
and she is trapped.
The graveyard people silence
and all at once
they embrace her.
And teach her their blues.

I think that this piece represents what goes on in a teen's head. At least my head, anyways. We are consumed with indecision, to the point where it haunts us. I have the hardest time making choices, it's the constant feeling of not being good enough. I am hoping that someone, anyone, can relate to this.
