One Thing I Know
There is always
that one point in time
when the sun is concealed by clouds
and the rain pours down desperately.
When the sky is a menacing grey
and the horizon roars with fury
when the light strikes from above
and pierces all it encounters.
And then
there is another point
when the clouds clear up
and the rain settles down.
When blue fills the sky
and the horizon calms down
when the light sees what it’s done
and has a change of heart.
And after it’s done
the colors stretch out
across the world
and all is forgiven.
