sometimes at night
i just open my eyes
to see
what lies beyond the lights
but all i see...........
is darkness
but somehow.........
darkness...........
is much more
beautiful
than sight.
what you can do
is listen...........
listen to all of natures glorified might
in this darkness call night.
i hear insects
i hear animals
i hear the sounds of creatures
i hear what is not heard in the light
for those sounds
only come out in the night.........

what inspired me to write this is just sitting outside in the woods and without light from a fire, you can hear more than you can see.
