A Grown Up Problem
no one speaks of cruelty
no one talks of pain
no one tells the children we’re all still playing games
with toys now made with flesh
as disposable as plastic
we’re animated corpses
masquerading in a panic
we think we’ve got it all
we’re too afraid to fly
safe within our boxes
because we fear the fall
if we could only listen
to the small voice in our minds
we might just glimpse a vision
and stop wasting all our time

I was in the mood for writing and this happened. I guess I was thinking about how badly kids want to grow up, yet adults never actually know what their doing and the ones who look like they have it all together are usually the most messed up.
