Strung Up
We often forget the purpose
of red brick buildings
in the nine hour hurry up
and wait
We often forget the purpose
of pen and paper
in the technicolor dream of
google docs
We get caught up easily
when thrown behind a
piece of paper reading
ABC
The first letters we learned
have become obsessions
We are easily strung up
by the coffee and all nighters
hanging ourselves on the
string of a 4.0
We linger in bed with our
mind in jello and our
eyes saying don't
wake me
We are easily strung up
Like puppets and I cannot
tell you how many pills
i took
We hang ourselves out
to dry our alcohol breaths
and wonder when this addiction
will end
