still i rise
Did you want to see me down?
slumped over with a drank in my hand head back like im almost dead taped out like i'm on cocaine
Do you fear my pride ?
does my swagger on life make you cry?
or is it my head that's held high near the sky or is it just because through all this suffer and pain i rise you brand me as just a poor black man trod me around town trying to hold me down pick me up and slams me down again trying to break my wings so i won't rise but like my dreams i'm big and i shine stroding as if my shoes are made from the robs of my god nonchalant by the struggle in your eyes but concerned
