Still I Rise
Are you mad because im an African American woman?
I hold my head up high like i can't be touched.
You may think what you want, but still
like air, I'll rise.
You may throw dirt on my name when you look into my eyes
You may try to push me down, but still, like air, I'll rise
Are you jealous of my shape, the way I walk, talk, and carry myself?
How independent I am? No matter what you think, still like air
I'll rise
