Dripping and Drizzling
The music played drums
About my window
And the trees beyond

The gloomy clouds filled the sky
And the earth bent under the weight
Of nature’s solemn tears.
I felt its desolation upon my heart.

The water flowing through the air
Cleaned it, like my thoughts by its smell
A renewal of life, a quenching of thirst

The dark streets filled with the sound of rain
My feet soaked and my senses dampened.
An ominous tone filled my walk home,
Water trickling down my neck

Swelling the rivers and lakes,
Feeding the plants and animals.
The rain fell like a gift,
Answering the prayers of the living

Mighty and tumultuous the lightning struck
The rain poured down amongst clashed
Trees and plants as they thrashed about
In awe of the storm above.

This piece was inspired by how many moods can be created by rain. Each stanza is a separate way to see the rain, and it helps to show how one event can change both with perspective and circumstances.
