The Holocaust
Has long been etched within us
Teaching us compassion
And the value of human lives
Showing us that no matter our differences
We are all human
The Holocaust produced a broken people
They were tortured and beaten
As their lives went up in smoke
One by one
People from all walks of life
Fell into Death's grip
But a few survived
Their will to live
Pulled them through most certain death
And these people arose
Becoming modern day phoenixes
No longer a myth
But truth
So, with this memoriam
We honor those that died
And lift up those that lived
But most of all
We strive to send this message:
                                            Never again
                                          Will a whole people
                                            Be wrought with such injustice
                                          So harshly
                                            That they become
                                           A wholly broken people

This is for all the survivors of the Holocaust and also the ones that perished. My hope is that this event in history will never be forgotten and never repeated.
