Freckles
Upon her face and skin there were speckles,
A bit like mine though mine weren't freckles
Too nervous to show emotion,
Too fearful of attack,
Thanks to her my life's in motion,
Gone is the old me,
I'm never going back.
The introverted extrovert,
Met the extroverted introvert,
Both masking who they were in their own way.
In a strange new world I knew nothing about,
She was the only person who helped me out.
I learned how to talk, how to run and how to sing,
In return she asked for just one thing,
And in my final hours she gave it back,
Now she is the only thing I lack.

When I moved to a foreign country almost six (?) years ago I suffered from extreme culture shock. Couple that with the fact that I was a major introvert who didn't know how to deal with even the simplest of social situations. Only one girl was able to get me to come out of my shell and become the person that I am today. This poem is about her.
