Knowledge isTimes Company
Look now through the looking glass
Look ahead not at what has passed
Even while the years go by;
When winter dawns, and summers fade
Crystals gleam as bright as day
Not as white but glittering silver.
Descending at a sluggards pace
The snow is light as feathered rain
It is a slow crescendo with much to gain.
Knowledge comes in company of time
Knowledge is the wise mans wine
Even as the years go by;
Teaching is a master’s art
We must guard it like the Ark
It is fragile like a crystal hearth.
Delicate menagerie of thoughts
You stand, while marble fades
Porcelain withstands the raid.

I wrote this as a gift to my AP Literature teacher last year, for her birthday. Because those who light the sparks of inspiration in you deserve acknoledgement. Plus, teachers should know that they are appreciated.
