Monopoly
Flittering in and out
of my life
like an ongoing game of
monopoly.
I’m always ready
to be played,
then dropped
when you get board.
You never put me away
but instead leave me out to
to be viewed by everyone
to see your progress.
One day, you will
forget about me
and put me back in the box
to be played with another day.

To him, I was just a dare that his friends had given him and was only a game for him to play when he had some spare time.
