The Strife of Humanity
Completely immersed but struggling to breathe
In a pool of what is not.
False pretenses lead to broken hopes
Single-handedly shattering what is.
What was once a whisper transforms
Into a deafening scream.
The whisper laughs with newfound power;
Ignorance shrivels away in fear.
How can the entity of one
Expect to ever truly understand another?
After all; passions, dreams, despair
Were never created to be shared.
Why do we fight against nature
In a never ending game of tug of war?
If we allow solidarity to be our shield,
then is it possible,
That what we now consider inexorable wounds
will transform into a single unadorned bruise?
