In The Cracks
Remember when you told her to look in the mirror?
Well her Mirror is cracked.
She remembers like it was yesterday. How it clicked and crumbled slightly
All because of the pressure of other people starring at it, at her.
They could see right through it. It was a reflection.
Or a projection of all the things they hate
All those flaws they try to hide, nasty little things that they buried alive
The mirror they all made is cracking, there was just to much to hide
Between each and everyone of them, the assumptions and the real thing
The truth was never there, it was a manipulation of what they wanted it to be
The supersensitive treasure hunt still continued on
A scavenger hunt from hell turned into everyone's favorite song
It was high pitched screeching that added more cracks
The mirror creaked and ached trying to defend all that was still left
But the people continued on they named each flaw they saw
They didnt even have to go looking, it had become a guilty pleasure
Or a bad habit. Some think the mirror always tell the truth, its always honest
But the mirror is only glass, so when it finally shattered,
clicked, cracked, bashed, and battered.
They all stood there confronting what they never imagined what they feared
The mirror was gone. Suprisingly nobody cared and the song still went on.
They never even knew, they weren't smart enough to...
It wasnt how things looked, it's how they actually were
The flattering illusion of a pretty outer shell could never be seen again
They could not move their flaws behind the mirror,
they kept too many of the wrong secrets and the glass just could not hold it in
Anymore
