Inside-out Poem

June 25, 2015

I am an inside-out poem
Perched cheerily inside
The outside of a person
Who is a poem.

Like a blackbird I crow
a bleary-eyed song
At the first hint of light,
A shrill, cracked sound.

I am the dawn of the sunset,
The start of the horizon,
Overlooked by all but you,
An outside-in poem.
