Final Days
During the final days of the beginning
Freshman year empties out and the anticipation brews
And here we are behind the windows that illuminate the beginning of the summer months.
Romeo and Juliet wait to be brought to life.
Finals in the wings cause stress that blocks out the summer sun
But the sun waits quietly until our tasks are done
The intensity of the year
the stresses of life
these final days becoming chores
and summer is forgotten
minds solely focused on studies
when will I be real again
when will I really be excited again?
