Free From You
I'm following the faces
of people once known
thinking of the places
where I have grown
My heart has been shattered
my mind has been filled
full of thoughts scattered
and remnents of secrets spilled
I'm fighting for the freedom
from this feverish flaw
ready to be done
and live in the raw
We're growing apart
me and my devilish mind
I'm staying true to my heart
and learning to be kind
You were once my lifeline
devious and misleading
I was yours, and you were mine
a sure pair, but truely impeding
I was blinded by your beauty
you made promises unkept
as this was your duty
to push me till I wept
You caused me such misery
but now I am free
from you and your wizardry
and I can be me
So hate you for your trickery
and hate you for your lies
now I have the victory
so let's say our goodbyes

This poem is written about my eating disorder, and breaking free from its grasp. I hope this will inspire you to break free from something- be it an addiction, an abusive relationship, or even a bad habit.
