Spring Showers
A warm wind blows
as cool rain drops.
Newly bloomed flowers
droop as if being stepped on.
Splotches of water crash
amongst their delicate petals.
The familiar smell of wet asphalt
and fresh dew arise from the ground.
Dark and somber clouds
frown upon the earth below.
The immense pothole
in the road transforms
into a chasm
that little kids splash in.
They sing in harmony
for the rain to go away,
but the dreary
and depressed clouds
refuse to abandon the kids.
