The lilac breeze
And summer sun
Remind me of you
Though you're gone
Leaving me
With just a memory

The starlight
And midnight moon
Haunt the night
With a memory
Of you and me
And a love long gone

The imagery of lilac breeze and summer sun conjure a vision of a field of lavender swaying in the wind and it makes you feel as if you are in the poem. I love the brokenness and the disconnected flow of the first stanza. The imagery of midnight moon is perfect and the last line of a love long gone gives it that melodramatic hopeful note that makes the poem stick with you even after it ends.
