Pages
If your mind is a library,
Then your heart is a banned book.
Everyone thinks they know your plot,
As do I.
But you still remain closed unto
My open eye.
I must dissect your pages,
Leave no paragraph as an unturned stone.
They chose to live off of short summaries,
But not me.
I’ve lately grown tired of trying to read
The words you keep invisible from me.
Are your words so innumerable,
As countless as a dictionary?
If so, I’ll spend my hours
Reading each one.
Won’t you let me gaze
Past the cover, the outside?
I must know your secrets,
For what’s on the inside is what I seek.
My mind spins as a raging storm in my skull
Because there isn’t a cipher to decode you,
Not just yet.
So, please let the pages be turned,
And let the story be told.
What is holding you back?
Open up.
