My Second Home
I stroll down the shore
Feeling the warmth of the sand
And let the cool breeze
Blow through my messy hair
I reach where the waves slowly recede
I let the water graze my toes
And a wave of cold sensation
Flows through my body like wind
I enter the water slowly
And become entirely numb
Beginning at my feet
And consuming the rest of my body
I notice a massive wave forming
I inhale deeply and hold my breath
I fully submerge in the coldness
And I can see through the blue water
I paddle to the surface for air
I taste the salty water on my lips
I dive into a wave as it approaches
I open my eyes and see blurry images
The sun sets and fills the sky
With beautiful colors
I look back on crowded shore
I watch people admiring the sunset
I feel the clusters of seaweed
Tangling around my feet
I grab the slimy mess
And launch it into the strong current
When it starts to get dark
And the sun is no longer there
I can almost spot the earth curve
When looking out in the far distance
I watch the people on the pier
Become only silhouettes
The waves start to calm
And everything is peaceful
I float over the waves
And can hear the muffled sound
Of the waves crashing onto shore
I close my eyes and just float
