All through the ghostly skin
The milky white wrapped around the blue pulse
The thin lines that travel up the arm
The jagged scars rest softly and deeply

Hatred
It is so daft yet so perfectly reasonable
To hate, to loathe, to detest the heart that beats for its own sake
Yet that is not enough

Each slash on every damned wrist tells another tale
The tears mingle with drops of pure blood
Over this tiled floor they travel
Leaving me forever, alone and empty as I feel

Scars remind me so dearly
Of what I hated
And I wonder why I ever hated
So I promise myself not to hate

Every river flows deeper
Connecting to another on my arm
To make the ocean of pure white
That holds everything I love, with all my heart

This piece is not particular nor personal. It is just me trying to understand hatred and the incentive for hatred.
