Girl of Stone
A girl of stone goes out to war
she does not know what she is fighting for
It is not a war that can be seen
but her struggle for life can be felt
Watch her crumble, watch her cry
watch her time just tick on by
but still she stands once more
still not knowing what she's fighting for
she must conquer and defeat
and yet another battle she must beat
this war is not over, not by long
but she knows that she must be strong
strong for those who love her and strong for those who stand beside her
and though at times it's hard to bear
she still stands tall, humble yet fair
for she is the girl of stone and she knows she does not fight alone
because the ones who love her and the ones who care
stand arm in arm, her burden to share
Oh Girl of Stone, hear our words
wrap your arms around us like faithful girds
dont give up for soon you'll see
that in due time you'll be set free
your horrid curse shall soon release
and you will be rid of this scary beast
Oh Girl of Stone, heed once more
we stand before you
to show you what your fighting for

I was inspired to wright this by my best friend whom was in a battle with a rare cancer. She was young yet so strong. The strongest I had ever seen. I wanted to show her that she was not alone in her battle and that her family and friends were always beside her in support. By the time I finished I wanted to read it to her so much, but the last time I was able to see her was in the hospital while she was sedated to reduce her pain. I wasn't able to read it to her but I hope her strength and spirit lives on in my words in a way to somehow inspire people who are also in a battle with cancer and to let them all know that they are not alone in their fight. Your friends and your family are here to support you.
