you and me
i thought you were what made the sun shine,
but darling, you weren't.
you were what made my eyes tear and wounds bleed,
you were the thoughts in my head that ripped me apart
and it may have been in pieces, but i gave you the best of me.
i'd like to believe we were right for each other, or meant to be;
and my god, i love you,
but loving you, hurt me.
your laugh resonates through my very veins,
your smile tattooed into my skin.
i wanted it to be you. i wanted it to be you so badly.
sadly,
you love her, not me.
and that is my five word tragedy.

for anyone's that's been in one sided love, or just hurt by love itself, you are enough. paint that into your very veins.
