I watched as my great city disappeared

When I daren’t crane my neck for longer
In hope that some day I would be stronger
But never knowing how I persevered

You will never master life’s curveball throw
Just acquire from life all that is offered
Continually knock aside each blow
And you will find life spares you a little woe

I’ve been offered far too many fresh starts
In that way I’ll never know my great luck
Just caring how many goodbyes have struck
And just comprehending broken hearts

You will never master life’s curveball throw
Just acquire from life all that is offered
Continually knock aside each blow
And you will find life spares you a little woe

I have traded skyscrapers for mountains
And then those mountains went for monuments
But I’ve learned to do away with ailments
I now turn these puddles into fountains
You will never master life’s curveball throw
Just acquire from life all that is offered
Continually knock aside each blow
And you will find life spares you a little woe

The key to the journey is in what you lack
It’s muscle memory to never look back.
