destiny
Everyday used to smile,
But haven't for a while.
It all went down hill in one day,
Wish it hadn't gone that way.
Wish she could break from the jail and be free,
But she was stuck like a leaf on a tree.
That day was a big mishap,
Wish she wouldn't go through that crap.
In tears she sat in the back of her mind,
She sat there waiting for the light she had to find.
In her mind she was out of luck,
And the things the voices said made her feel stuck.
"Go kill yourself you worthless piece of s***!"
"There is nothing for you here you just don't fit."
She tried to ignore them but it was hard,
Her arms got the beating everyday they scared.
Feeling helpless and not wanting to stay,
Her mind was too dark; it was a bad display
With her mind set she popped a couple pills,
The leaf has shedded from the tree with a free will.
She saw in her eyes what she wanted to see,
The darkness behind her and the heavens she wanted to be.
But then something unexpected happened,
She fell to the ground past out and hit her head.
She saw the wonderful heaven in front of her,
She took a step into it to see if it was her imagination to make sure,
But then............
She woke up dizzy as ever,
Didn't think she would be alive...no never!
If the heaven was right there, then she woke up on the floor,
Is she meant to be here to finish her journey and soar?
Once the girl got off the floor,
She wanted to know more.
But instead of learning she did the right thing and got help,
Because she was terrified of herself.
She attended a hospital that made her feel better,
And she sent home to her parents a letter.
Explaining what happened and what she going through,
She knew they wouldn't get it, only some did but very few.
"It is very difficult to understand,
Just take this letter in your hand.
Read it when your good and ready,
Make sure your fairly steady.
Please don't cry,
I didn't die.
I am still here,
Don't you fear.
I am getting the help I need,
So please don't cry I plead.
What happened is in the past,
Things happen way too fast.
But I promise I won't do it anymore,
What I did was very poor.
But still what happened is already gone and away,
And don't worry I surely had to pay.
That isn't what matters in a way,
What matters is that I had the chance to stay."
While was in the hospital she worked really hard,
Tired of her arms always being scared.
Taking her medication the right way,
And using her coping skills everyday.
Going to group and talking to the therapist,
Made the rain turn into mist.
To turn the mist into sunshine,
She has to be more than just fine.
Pouring all of her feelings on the table,
Made her more than just stable.
Tweeking the medication just right,
Showed her the beam of light.
With the smile on her face she got the discharge date,
But she had to remember she controls her fate.
She promised she would stay strong and stride in life,
And won't ever again touch a knife.
