The Voices

Age 7
Voice number 398 tried to get
Me to kill the neighbor’s dog.
Daddy took me to the clinic.
The nice doctors told me
To take a medicine that would
Make the voices go away.
Voice 298 didn’t like that.
Age 11
Daddy told the doctors that I
Didn’t need the medicine anymore,
So I stopped taking them.
Voices 482 and 365 were excited
But, I said nothing about their return.
Age 17
Daddy found me without a
Heartbeat on my bedroom floor.
With a note that said;
‘The voices made me do it’
