Space is rad.
It makes me sad
because of my inability
to be there and float around
to experience it with my eyes.
I get to look up and wonder
about the celestial bodies before me,
and feel the gravitational pull forcing against me.
It pushes me to the ground with an accelerant
of nine point eight one per second squared
To feel the heat of the sun
Creating Helium from hydrogen
Lithium to Beryllium
Boron to Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine,
and Neon,
The list continues to go on
to create the elements of us.
The sun is a catalyst to life itself.
It also holds the capacity to destroy it,
It gives birth to a black hole
by collapsing into itself
under the weight of
three hundred and thirty four thousand earths.
But the mass of energy collapsing
creates something quite beautiful.
The gravity becomes so strong,
not even light could escape it,
Time itself seems to slow down due to relativity.
But some stars don't die so violently
Some stars are born prematurely
and can not grow to be large enough to sustain
Hydrogen fusion,
so they cool down,
enough to be grasped by a human hand.
Stars are interesting beings
The celestial magnitude they consent to be
seems to be a beauty which can only compares to the gods
humans strive to free.
A nuclear furnace of gaseous fusion
swirling atoms comparable to the speed of light
It becomes so hot the rays given off
sends a signal of life to beings around it
On to Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars
till Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune
Even lonely Pluto can feel the loving warmth
that the motherly star has to provide.
But the planets are just as rad
they become a perfect example of Murphy's law
Anything that can happen,
will.
On Venus it snows iron, and rains acid
Pressure is ninety times that of earth,
Mars has polar Ice caps of Carbon Dioxide
And dust storms for days
that envelop the planet,
Jupiter has a hurricane that goes on for
four hundred years the size of
three earths,
In Saturn, the pressure is so great
it squeezes carbon into diamonds
And on Neptune
The winds average around
one thousand five hundred MPH.
Space is an interesting place,
its all around us
it envelopes our being
We are a part of it
and just as rad.
