Thorns
I sleep upon a bed of thorns,
once with a hope of being awaken.
As I was surrounded by my love,
but as I sleep her heart grows cold.
Forced to watch from my bed of thorns,
Bound by the chains of my past.
As her love blossoms for another,
My heart is lonely as it draws its last beats.
My bed no longer a bed,
But a throne of lies.
Upon my throne I rule the kingdom of darkness.
I teach hate and regret,
Day after day.
Night comes unnoticed as it is always dark,
I go to sleep upon my bed of thorns to do it all again.
