'Disgusting'
That seems to be the word that describes it
Why must we use such a downgrading word?
What's so wrong about love?
And I'm not talking about the love story between a guy and a girl
I'm talking about the supposed shunned story
The story between the guy and the guy or the girl and the girl
It almost seems like that story is shoved to the back of the deepest shelves
So tell me: what's wrong with it?
The love between two people should be enough
Their gender has nothing to do with it
So what if a guy is with a guy?
So what if a girl is with a girl?
Love is love.
And to everyone who has been shunned, denied, and forgotten, to everyone who's afraid:
It's time
It's time to take a stand
For the denied, stand up for your rights!
For those who are afraid, it's time to fight!
If you're a man and you love a man, be proud of it!
If you're a woman and you love a woman, be proud of it!
I'm not ashamed to say I love a woman
But it's not her beauty that captured me
It was her heart
Because my sexuality follows personality, not gender
I'm not ashamed to admit I'm pansexual
You shouldn't be ashamed to admit you're gay or lesbian, bi or demi, omni or pa
Because it's you
And we're taught that being you is the best thing ever
So be you
Take a stand
Be proud of yourself
If straight people are proud of being straight, then you should be proud of being curvy, bent, however you want to say it
Don't let anyone stop you from being you
It's okay
To all the gay men, it's okay. Be you
To all the lesbian women, it's okay. Be you
To all the bisexuals, it's okay. Be you
To the demisexuals, omnisexuals, and my fellow pansexuals and hell, even the asexuals, it's okay. Be you
I'm not gonna stand by and let my rights or anyone else's rights be denied
I'm not going to be afraid anymore
Because love isn't about parts
Love is about hearts

So I had to write a slam poem for my Creative Writing class and this is what I came up with. I'm pansexual, and I wanted to come out somehow, so this is how I did it. I actaully enjoyed writing this.
