Imagine yourself in a room rapidly filling with water,
You push through the water to get to the door only to find that it’s locked,
Then you trudge as fast as you can to the other side of that room to try the window,
But only to find out that it’s locked too.
You’re getting out of breath,
And your heart is pounding so fast and hard that you think it is going to pop out of your chest.
The room is almost full,
The air starts to become one with the water.
The water is up to your neck and you are taking your final breath.
A short moment goes by and the room, along with your lungs, is completely filled with water.
You’re dead.

While you were dying you saw a twisted display of your entire life flash through your mind.
You remember all the fun times at baseball games you had with your family.
You remember how you used hide behind the big oak tree during hide and seek and play tag with your big sister in the front yard.
You remember all the times you cried when your parents left for work.
You remember all the times you laughed when you and your friends were being silly.
You remember all the times you loved when you kissed him.
Then all of a sudden those happy memories go away,
You remember seeing the walls slowly disappear and the light from outside the window fade away.
You remember how everyone on the outside of the room stood and watched as you slowly and painfully died.
You remember struggling to gasp for air as the water swept it away.
You remember how you hit and kicked the door and window so hard that you got immediate bruises on your arms and legs.
But they just wouldn’t break.
You were helpless.

Believe it or not anxiety feels the same way.
One day you may feel great,
But then the next you feel like you are drowning in all of your thoughts.
Anxiety is not something you want in your life.
You will beat yourself up trying to figure out what's wrong with you.

Anxiety can hold you back,
It can hold you back from the memorable things you don’t want to miss.
You become indolent.
When anxiety attacks it makes you feel helpless,
Like you’re drowning and no one is there to save you.
You’re so isolated from everyone you love that they don't notice how much pain you are in.
The only ones you have to talk to are the demons inside your precious little head.
Except they aren't always nice,
They can take over and make you do things you never thought you would.
But by the time you realize you can fight those demons off,
It’s too late.
You were too damaged.
And you drowned in your deadly thoughts.
