True, Trying, Alive
Do not know me by my stains and self-criticism,
Neither cast away or justify this changing of seasons.
Know me by my endless colors,
My ever changing portraits
Of pain, and loss, and love.
Know me by my arms that whisper: "I am here, I am here, I am here."
Know me not by my last name or the origin of my being.
Know me like the lotus, the bird, the lyrics.
know me as a soul, know me as a collision of time, of hope, of colors.
Know me to be true, trying, alive.
