I Still Remember
I still remember
how your freckles speckled,
Across your skin like stars in the night sky.
The way your hair flowed,
In short bouncy blonde waves,
and how soft it was as I ran my fingers through it.
I still remember
your lips,
and how each kiss would fill me with joy.
The way your fingers interlocked with mine.
I used to think that this would stay forever,
but people change.
I changed.
We are both now just a name on a list of ex-lovers,
with the faint memory lingering of what used to be.
But to be honest, I wish I could just forget.
