A Lonely Night
A single leaf is heard hopping about
Soon to be accompanied by its friends
To tumble into the depths of darkness
An apprehensive whisper
Gently rustles the leaves
As it grows into an immense roar,
The branches rattle
Leaves snap off;
Swirls of scarlet and gold fill the air
All other life is hidden
Underneath the earth,
In the dense forests
Anywhere to keep from the
Branches, bare as skeletons
Decaying leaves lying underneath
The moon takes a peek,
Shedding light upon the lonely sight
But quickly hides once again, as
Thick blankets of clouds cover the
Dark blue sky
