"Love and a cough cannot be concealed, even a small cough, even a small love." - Anne Sexton

I.
Any classic novel that was later turned into a Disney movie,
leather jackets, that flavored water squeezy stuff, the pink jacket,
JET, Superheroes (specifically Batman and your mother), perfect teeth,
hole-y tshirts, ladybugs.

II.
Jazz, khakis, AP US History, food puns, French, Portuguese,
the word genuine, Pulp Fiction, french toast, the FIFA X Box Game,
bus rides, Vladimir Nabokov, that time we almost kissed.

III.
Dark theatres, public bathrooms, key lime pie, poker, Cherry Coke,
BiLo, heavy metal, 3rd period, Backseat Freeystyle, that green dress
and those grey underwear, secrets, spring time, ugly shoes, neck kisses.

IV.
Adidas, Calvin Klein, pretentious music festivals and NYC museums,
stripes, that song Brooklyn Baby, your first kiss, French islands, castles,
pineapple boxers, question games, art galleries, sleeping under the stars.

I .
My love for you shed with age but I still appreciate your smile
and I hope every day for you is filled with sunshine and
that you will find someone who
makes you understand
we are people of stardust.

You’re going to be a great man.

II.
My love for you will never fade,
even if you’ve forgotten me
and you changed your profile picture
to you and your prom date who is
so much prettier than me.

I’m sorry I didn’t kiss you

III.
You choked my love for you with your bare hands,
I often find it’s corpse in song lyrics.
But, you are just a friend now.

I’m glad we are friends now.

IV.
You tried to rebuild my self esteem out of paper,
but needed a piece to write her a love letter,
therefore I still feel incomplete.

I miss you.
