What School Feels Like
You can see the warmth of outside
but will never feel it.
Little kids having fun
you're envy of their freedom.
A ride is so close to you
but leaves before you reach it.
A sign says EXIT
but you can never leave.
Wathching your every move
they make sure you follow the rules.
Fences and railings surround us
treating us as if we're animals.
Brick and steel built this place,
preventing us from ever breaking it.
Teachers taunt us as they leave
driving away as fast as they can.
As the bell sounds, we run out the doors
excited to finally be out.
Sadness follows as you realize
we have to come back tomorrow.
