Taken over
Today, the happiest day of my life…
May 3, 1940. My precious Gabriella was born.
7 pounds 4 ounces, and beautiful bold brown hair.
My husband Anthony is stationed in Afghanistan in the air force.
Participating in a virulent act.
Weary War…
He wasn’t here for the birth of our child sadly.
But I love him more then words can describe and I know he is ok.
May 29, 1940. 9:16am…
I receive a letter.
I am more than nervous to open it.
The return address is where my husband is stationed.
This could either break or make my world.
9:18am.
I open the letter…
A malign letter.
The letter reads that my husband Anthony has just been killed.
My world.
THERE!
In all of two minutes
DONE.
FINISHED.
OVER.
What do I do?
I cannot raise a child on my own.
Here I am…
A mad mournful mother.
Who had just lost her world right before her eyes.
I know heaven has just gained another angle.
A perfect paradigm.
My husband, my daughter’s idol.
Although Gabriella never got to meet her dad,
He will always be remembered and constantly in our minds.
So here it is.
From a mother,
Who just had her first child.
26 days before her husband was killed.
SICK! SICK! World.
Death is on its own clock folks.
Enjoy it while you have it….
