Baby Bloomer
Early baby boy breathing into the world.
Everyone stared in amusement,
like a child hypnotized by the rattling T.V.
No one could take their eyes off.
No one believed he could make it all the way,
but only his parents kept hope.
His mom hoping,
to go forty weeks, but to her surprise,
he came in a little early.
Treatment and intensive care was what was hoped,
but he came a day too early.
He was a surprise alright.
To have made it to his first birthday
was a sign of hope and joy.
Being premature at twenty two weeks.
was with its risks.
But in the end, it came down to
the early baby boy that breathed into the world.
