Dear Lord
Dear Lord,
I hope you can forgive me for my sins,
I plead for you to give me the strength to fight against all demons.
I try to take things upon myself which is stupid,
I apologize for having a brain and not to use it.
I want to see you in the heavenly skies,
Holding your hand as if you are my father in disguise.
Grant me the wish of seeing my parents too,
For they have done nothing but raised me in the name of you.
In the name of Jesus forgive me and hear my prayer,
Because I know soon it’ll come in handy later.
I need you as my guide so lead me,
Get rid of all enemies upon me.
I want no violence just peace,
And to finally be able to put dumb things behind me.
Lord I have been driving for so long,
Time for you to take my wheel and steer me away from all wrong.
Forgive me for all my thoughts that are soon to become actions,
I’m asking you to take action and heal me.
Revive me from the depths of the devil,
Breathe life into me,
No longer do I wanna fall,
But only to be able to stand tall

My inspiration to write this piece were the events taking place in my life. I'm not much of a religous guy but I thought with the things happening in my life right now, I could use a little prayer. Me being the kind of guy who hadn't prayed too much in his life, I decided to pray in the form of a poem. From this poem, I want people to receive a message that life is a struggle, but a little faith can take you a long way.
