My Silent Prayer
I knell before you,
Not, may haps, in the House,
But on the green ground,
Under the blue ceiling or the storming skies
Maybe I don’t pray in so many words but my heart and song speak what my mouth cannot
My voice sings for you what Bach made,
What Beethoven composed,
And Mozart played,
Where my speech is ashamed and a disappointment to you
As I lay upon the earth,
To hear the inspiration of my mind
I wait to hear thy voice
At the hope you can hear
My silent Prayer
