What I see America As
What I see America as
I see America as the people working
I see Blacks, whites, Asians, and many more united as one
I see people in poverty, begging for food
I see middle class people trying to help them
I see the upper class shopping
People are laughing as they too realize that their are
people out there like me and you
or maybe they heard a funny joke
You can realize with the tears in my eyes I’m finally noticing
how life works
I watch as an old couple walk down the street holding hands
thinking to myself,
”How perfectly happy they are and how I wish that was me.”
I observe everything around me and realize that their are happy people and
there are some sad people
I notice that there are many busy people rushing on by
They are rushing to get to work or maybe they are on break
rushing on home
We drive by a church, I see two woman as happy as children on christmas day
I hear people laughing and clapping in a good way and it makes me feel at ease, We finally stop, my hands are clenched together and I realize,
“ What a beautiful world it is!!!”
There are rainy days, that makes you feel tired and drowsy
There are sunny days, that makes you feel crazy happy
Life is like a roller coaster,
You have some ups,and downs
some twists and turns
But it will all come to an end soon
I hear the church bells, the sound makes me feel
good
I hear police, maybe someone broke the law
I listen as the radio changes into an emergency warning
I pick-up everything about the house that caught on fire
between the bits of static that comes in and out through the radio
I feel as if I could’ve helped somehow
