There They Lie
There they lie, row after row,
Pure white stones sticking out of the clean-cut grass.
The sky is barren and only birds can be heard solemnly chirping,
It seems as if everything has stopped.
As if all is silent in their honor.
There they lie, together, united.
With common goals but different dreams,
They were together through the hardships
and understood each other's struggles.
But all those dreams were buried in the grown.
There they lie, a memorial to our country.
White stones line up upon hills and hills,
Seeming to go on forever in every direction,
Symbolizing the honorable sacrifices made by our men and women.
There they lie, in all their honor,
The sight brings tears to a General’s eyes.
Such tragic losses for something as grotesque as war.
