I remember my fall from the empire above

Yet they whisper of a pulse beating up from the ground

Descending afterlife winds jumped my fade to black

I felt something was there leaking figments of sound

I felt gathering strength when each breath left my chest

In the presence of what my dark exhale possessed

A shadow darker than black that I couldn't clearly see

Danced around in a blur, so I looked close to find that it's me

The only thought I had was to smile back

I fell in touch with evil, my only hope's to fall again tonight

And when my hand reaches from the dark

Don't mistake it for a savior's light

It's a dark path ahead so I'll start at a steady crawl

I stopped trying to define what my soul's worth

Or search for answers from those who'll never give them all 

In the empire above and at the feet of the flame eternal

I've worn the nightmares that walk your mind

I'm the beast with many names

I'm a forbidden force entitled to my ways

They say I taint the night with shades of sharp decay

I'm on the edge of your sight but you just haven't found me yet

I'm but a single taste, my blood flows through the apple of discord

I've become nothing but the traits no one else can afford

But I've never known how to expose my soul and rid the wrong
