Imperfection

No one is perfect
It is imperfection that makes us perfect
Not to everyone, only a few find us perfect
The colour of your skin, your eyes, your smile
Mean little to the people to who don’t find you perfect
But mean everything to the people who do
Perfection and imperfection are not only found by others
But also by ourselves
We coat ourselves in masks to make us this so called perfect
But we hide the real us
We teach the younger generation to hide the things they don’t like
The things that make them who they are
We buy temporary cover-ups for something that’s permanent
We change ourselves, our bodies and faces
And in turn we change our personality
We make ourselves seem perfect in everyone else’s eyes
But our own
This foundation we buy, this make up we use
Is now the foundation of our society’s beauty
And it makes up the only confidence of our generation
This beauty they sell to you
To cover up pimples and blemishes
Only covers up the real us
And only when we reveal the real us
Have we reached perfection

Good poem. Many people I know can relate to this... They're not on Teen Ink, though. Anyway, just one thing in the last line—Have we reached perfection? It's a question (I'm assuming) so a question mark would make sense there.
