I Just Have to Keep on Rolling
I am a wheel…
That spins around and around like my head at night when I should be sleeping,
That is plain and simple and nothing extravagant.
That has different looks and different types like my personality.
I am a wheel…
That has faced many challenges and bumps in the road.
That has a plethora of weight resting on them, as does my shoulders.
That pushes itself to move forward in order to be where it needs to be.
I am a wheel…
That has bumps, ridges, holes, and imperfections.
That is overlooked and underappreciated.
That is worn, torn, and then thrown away when something else that’s better comes along.
I am a wheel…
That gets lost when someone steers me wrong,
That needs a little push sometimes when I run out of gas.
That sometimes puts on different rims to make itself look somewhat nicer even though underneath it’s still the same.
I am a wheel…
That is just as good as the tires on the nice expensive car.
That gets a little dirty sometimes.
That has a lot of pressure inside of it and it can’t let it out.
I am a wheel…
That can hold itself together for a long time but then it may burst.
That has traveled around and has seen people and things come and go.
That no matter how many times you let it get a scratch or hole will still be there to help you get to where you need to be.
I myself am a wheel.
