Press the sides of the cap hard. Pop!
Horse pill after horse pill. Pop! Pop! Pop!
Swallowing four to five at a time
Ignoring the shakes and drowsiness of the side effects
Night comes and the routine continues to cycle. Pop! Pop! Pop!
The injections are more tedious
Stab! Press hold...ten seconds release
Stab! Slowly press the drug
I feel the burning sensation that consumes my body and fills my head
Takes over me until I turn into a drone
I sometimes pass out into a deep sleep, depending on the dosage
Needles, needles, needles
Scar tissue is backing up making it nearly impossible to find a vein
Poke. Stab. Ouch! Poke. Stab. Ouch! "Sorry, I can't find a good vein"
The burden of having this dealer
"It will make you feel better" with a "Take this and take that!" Trial and error.
"We're going to give you a round of fluids, then prednisone, benadryl, and epinephrine"
Blindly I agree. I just want to feel. Better.
Poke, stab, pass out. Poke, stab, stay awake and shake
Poke, stab, and jabber paranoia out of restlessness
Get me out of this drug fest, I don't care the outcome! I scream and pound on the walls of my head The drug dealer smiles and laughs as he notices my anxiety
"Stay in your hospital bed. You're very sick. The pharmacy will send you home with some more pills I prescribed"
Trust me. I'm a doctor.
