She holds authority,
a power over me.
Guilty guilty guilty guilty guilty guilty–
For these words, the words I shriek and the mantras I breathe,
are not shredded from me.
I simply paraphrase
whatever I happen to read.
She lectures as they
become me.
I beg, borrow, and steal the words to take
and wonder when
she’ll find out
I’m not an artist, I’m a thief.
